How often should I schedule email reminders?

There is no golden rule; it all depends on the window of time you have to capture their thoughts.  If you are surveying the audience about a specific event, you should contact them within 24 hours of their attendance and expect that after a week very few people will be interested in responding.  During the seven day period you might send a reminder every 24 hours for the first three days and then wrap up with a final reminder on the sixth day.  Surveys that seek more general feedback will have longer timeframes, thus reminders should be adjusted accordingly.
