I am in the process of evaluating our existing website and trying to come up with a plan to make it work better for us, our cause and our goals.
I always reach the same dead-end. I don't know how to balance between an approach focused on sales and promoting our services (entertainment for events and special performances), versus the social aspect (community and school workshops, trainings, working with the youth, and giving them the opportunity to travel the world showing their talents).
I can't come up with a way in which I can both showcase what we do professionally and also our social work, and of course motivate action. I feel that if I make the website too "social" or focused on our cause, it may distract or divert prospect clients, event organizers or other interested in hiring our services. But on the other hand, if we focus a little more on selling or showing what we do, it seems a little obious that donations will not come that easy.
i've even thought of creating a website for sales purposes (.com), and one for fundraising and nonprofit corporate information (.org), but I also think this might be confusing for everyone, not to mention a lot more time and resources for us...
I hope you can help me with this. I figured that this is the place to get my question answered as I think that other arts organizations have thought of the same.
