Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees: Working with Funders in a Down Market

Day and Time: Monday, November 2, 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
Track: Fundraising

Giving USA 2009 reported that in 2008, private sector giving to the arts (by individuals, foundations, and corporations) was down 6.4 percent compared to 2007. Not a huge surprise in the worldwide economic climate, but not good news either. So how are funders reacting to these difficult times? In this session you get insights straight from organizations whose missions include arts funding. Find out how funders are cutting back, adjusting partnership paradigms, and responding to the realities of a “down market.”
