Matt Lehrman is the founding Executive Director of Alliance for Audience (AFA), a service organization founded in 2003 to advance the mutual audience development goals of the arts organizations and cultural destinations of the Greater Phoenix region. Best known as ShowUp.com, AFA serves more than 200 member organizations and its services have grown to include Metro Tucson. AFA has partnered with ArtsFund (Seattle) to administer the exploratory process known as Project Audience.

As a researcher and consultant, he has studied audiences, visitors, and patterns of cultural participation in almost every major market in the United States. His work focuses on understanding consumer demand for cultural experiences and on helping cultural institutions, foundations, and agencies to see new opportunities, make informed decisions, and respond to changing conditions.
